BEGINNER BOXING

Our beginner classes are based on boxing and kick boxing. The goal of this class is to give people without any previous experience a strong foundation of movement, punching, and kicking. Because the goal is self defense rather than sport, special emphasis is placed on techniques that would not be allowed in modern boxing competition. This is sometimes referred to as “Extreme Boxing”, “Dirty Boxing”, or “Old-School Pugilism”.
  • Learn basic offensive and defensive skills
  • Develop: power, timing, speed, and structure
  • Fitness emphasis - Strength, Flexibility, Stamina
  • Non-Contact Class
  • Use targets, mitts, and bags to practice
  • Men and Women Co-Ed Class
The goal of the beginner class is physical development, and instruction in the fundamentals of boxing, kickboxing, and self defense. If you are primarily interested in the fitness benefits, this is where you will want to stay. It will push you to the limits without sparring or contact training.

INTERMEDIATE BOXING

This class is the same as Beginner Boxing, but includes the use of:
  • Partner Drills
  • Light Free Sparring

There are no prerequisites or experience necessary for this class. It is open to people who would like a more more physically interactive training experience. Training in the intermediate classes will produce faster results through more realistic training experiences.

MMA (Mixed Martial Arts)

Our intermediate classes are based on MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). These classes incorporate punching, kicking, clinching, takedowns, wrestling, ground-n-pound, and submissions . The emphasis is still on the street rather than the ring, so we focus on the moves with the highest statistical level of success and that have less risk in a dynamic life threatening situation. There is no pre-requisite to this class except a desire to work hard and an extraordinarily cooperative attitude.
  • Includes sparring and contact drills
  • Integrated striking and wrestling
  • Develop strategic thinking and tactics
This class is much more intense than the beginner class and requires an even greater level of cooperation and respect. To train at this level requires excellent training partners and therefore we are very selective about who is allowed to participate in this class. Even though this class is INTENSE, it still maintains our top two priorities of Safety and Fun.
